Dear Yogis/Yoginis
I wish you a joyful December with equal measures of peace, calm, gratitude, frivolity and excitement. This month I thought I would give you a few ideas for gifts you might wish to give or receive, in addition to a Yoga Holiday retreat in Spain! Easy Jet tickets for flights from 5th Sept to 29th October are out to-day buy whilst cheap.
Yoga Books
Dave Swenson’s practice manual is a must for the Ashtangi and any other yogi. It’s a great one whether you are supremely flexible or as stiff as plank; there are modifications for everyone.
‘Moola Banda: The Master Key’ - For anyone wanting to know about stomach muscles and pelvic floor.
‘How Yoga Works’ by Christie McNally and Geshe Michael Roach. It is the story of yoga and teachings of Patanjali written as a novel; a fabulous and engaging read.
Non Yoga Books
‘The Alchemist’ Paulo Coelho. A simple yet powerful fable
‘The Power of Now’ Eckhart Tolle. A guide to spiritual enlightenment
‘The Hidden Messages in Water’. Masaru Emoto
‘Way of the Peaceful Warrior’ Dan Millman. An autobiographical book that changes lives using a unique blend of East and West philosophy.
Out On A Limb - Shirley MacLaine. About her ‘spiritual awakening’..
DVDs
‘What the Bleep is it all about’. Quantum Physics, spirituality, neurology and evolutionary thought.
‘Down the rabbit hole’. The meaty 5 disc follow up to “What the Bleep”
Other Ideas
Why not buy a friend a stainless steel drinking flask to avoid BPAs that may be in plastic drinking bottles and cut down on plastic waste?

Finally
What does yoga meditation and fudge cake have in common?
They each bring you a piece/peace of heaven.
No doubt a number of you will be making News Year resolutions. Remember failing does not make you a failure, trying makes you a success.
