Musings of a Happy Yogi
BY les | Tue 01 Apr, 2014
Having just come back from 4 days at my idyllic Andalician mountain retreat I would like to share pictures of the local village of Comares where we were last Friday.
The definition of a Yogi is Someone who leaves a place a little nicer than when they arrive - this will certainly apply to Dave Swenson with whom I did my teacher training with in November 2001. Although I have been doing Yoga now for 15 years I always remember that practise is the greatest teacher of all and no matter of how many years I have been doing yoga it is still the practise . David's views on life are always enlightening and his take on life is just about right I remember reading an interview with him and when asked why do yoga? His reply was
"It enables me to sit on the beach spitting out water melon seeds"
- there you go folks just be happy. You might enjoy this Ted Talk on the science of happiness
Pattabhi Jois used to say that Yoga is an internal practise the rest is just a circus what he was referring to I believe was the meditation we gain during the practise.
Finally Yoga shows us the way to happiness
